79. Scouting Report. Pick No. 4. Dallas Mavericks. 2. player. Pick Analysis. Current Center: Nerlens Noel

As far as comfortable situations go with forming a bright future, the Dallas Mavericks are the perfect spot for Bamba to end up in. Yet, it will be while before the Mavericks are back in playoff contention in the West since their franchise cornerstone in Dirk Nowitzki is about done.

The current building block for the Mavericks is former NC State Wolfpack point guard Dennis Smith Jr., and possibly former North Carolina Tar Heels forward Harrison Barnes. Yet, Barnes is by no means the face of the franchise in Dallas.

Bamba could land in the same state where he played his college ball for one year. Dallas is also a franchise that could have a nice trio with one more lottery pick in 2019. Bamba would need a good level of patience in this situation, but also getting scooped up with the No. 4 pick is realistic given his draft stock.

A lot makes sense about Bamba ending up with the Mavericks, and the smart money says this could really happen in the end. Bamba might not like the idea of slipping out of the top three as far as ego goes, but this is a great place for him to land.
