If Texas is looking to add an additional running back to the mix to fortify the versatility of the offense, reaching out for Baylor Bears’ Terence Williams would be a good move. Williams sits among the more proven grad transfer options among running backs, and that’s valuable to the Horns.

Watson is a great addition for the Horns, but he might not be the same type of every down rusher that Williams could be. During his first two seasons with Baylor, Williams rushed for more than 1,600 yards and 14 touchdowns all while averaging nearly six yards per carry.

Texas is also very familiar with Williams, considering its faced Williams on two occasions. Those two matchups came while Baylor was more of a force in the Big 12 under former head football coach Art Briles until scandal caught up with the program. Yet, Williams should still be a valued target for many programs due to the success he’s already found.

It would make a lot of sense for Williams to stay in the Big 12, a level of competition he’s familiar with. An injury set him back for the 2017 campaign, but he should be ready for the upcoming regular season. Texas could use even more depth in the backfield by adding Williams.
