The first prospect on this list that is a Texas high school product is also one of the most talented offensive lineman in the nation. The Horns have offered two five-star offensive tackles in Oak Ridge’s Tyler Johnson and Atascocita’s Kenyon Green. Johnson is rated as the No. 33 prospect in the nation overall and Green at No. 15.

However, Texas looks to have a much better chance at landing Johnson than Green. The Texas A&M Aggies seem as the overwhelming favorite to land Green, with the Alabama Crimson Tide and Oklahoma Sooners still in the mix. Meanwhile, Johnson seems to favor the Horns over his other favorite program in the Sooners.

Not only would nabbing Johnson away from the Sooners be awesome for the Texas fan base, but this offensive line needs his services. Possibly the weakest point of the Texas roster on both sides of the ball in the last two years was the offensive line. Losing out on a former All-American offensive tackle in Connor Williams will truly test the current group for Texas in 2018.

Texas brought in a grad transfers in former Rice Owls offensive tackle Calvin Anderson to plug a hole for now. But, Johnson could be the new long-term solution for Herman and offensive coordinator Tim Beck moving forward.
