A top target all the way for the Horns will continue to be the four-star power forward Washington native Jaden McDaniels. He’ll have programs like the Washington Huskies vying for him the entire way, but Texas shouldn’t fade away either. McDaniels brings too much potential to the table to let him go completely.
Stealing McDaniels away from the Huskies could help round out this recruiting class for the Horns altogether. There’s a few other prospects on this list that are coming from the west coast. If Texas can land McDaniels, it might be able to do enough to get other prospects like Agbonkpolo to come around too.
McDaniels is too strong in the paint, and is too agile anywhere within two-point range for him to not become an offensive force in college. He has an incredible ability to find space while posting up and has nice elusiveness in even getting into open mid-range shots.
At this moment, McDaniels holds offers from seven schools, including the Huskies and Horns. Another program looking to add McDaniels to the mix is the biggest rival of Texas in the Oklahoma Sooners. Arizona and the San Diego State Aztecs could also be favorites to pull in McDaniels. But, Texas is very likely to wind up in his final choices and he could be coming to Austin when it’s all said and done.
