Texas has two blood rivals. One of which it still gets to face each and every year. The Texas A&M Aggies haven’t faced the Horns since departing from the Big 12 after the 2011 season. Meanwhile, the Red River Shootout against the Sooners still goes on every season.

One of the best memories for Texas fans will continue to be McCoy helping his team defeat the Aggies in College Station at the end of the 2009 regular season. There’s no chance that Texas could’ve pulled this off without the heroics coming from McCoy. He wound up with nearly 500 total yards and five touchdowns.

McCoy had to do a lot to keep up with Texas A&M quarterback Jerrod Johnson, who tossed four touchdowns in the eventual loss for the Aggies. Texas rode solid performances from running back Tre’ Newton and wide receiver Jordan Shipley to this clutch 10-point victory in the Lonestar Showdown.

Yet, none of this would’ve been possible without McCoy under center. That rang true for so many wins that Texas picked up between 2006-2009. This could very well go down as the best regular season game that McCoy ever played. His 47-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver James Kirkendall was the game-winning score for the Horns.
