Linebacker. College Career: 2002-2004. 28. Scouting Report. 9. player. Pick Analysis. Derrick Johnson

Similar to that of players like Brian Robison and Jamaal Charles, former Kansas City Chiefs veteran linebacker Derrick Johnson would be much higher up in this ranking if it were done a few years ago. And, Johnson has put together an admirable NFL career that was spent with the same time up until the end of the 2017 campaign.

The Oakland Raiders wound up with Johnson after inking him to a one-year contract with the team. Johnson provides a veteran voice in the locker room for the Raiders, which the team could use following a disappointing result last season. Johnson saw a ton of success at the end of his tenure in Kansas City.

Last season, Johnson racked up 48 total tackles, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. It was a down season by the usual standard of Johnson. Yet, at this point in his career his experienced is more valuable to a roster than his speed and athleticism.

He should still get a few starts for the Raiders this year, but his career could be wrapping up here soon. Even for quality linebackers, 35-years-old is an older age to play at. Johnson has also dealt with some injury issues of late including a few rounds with a torn Achilles.
