Cornerback/Safety. College Career: 2011-2014. Quandre Diggs. Scouting Report. 7. player. 50. Pick Analysis

One of the breakout defensive backs of the 2017 NFL season was Detroit Lions’ Quandre Diggs. In his first two years in the league, Diggs was a solid contributor to the Lions’ defensive backfield. But, he reeled in his first interception last season and he didn’t stop there.

By season’s end, Diggs had three interceptions, one forced fumble, and one sack. That was also Diggs’ first career sack. He truly had a breakthrough season and established himself as a legit starting defensive back that’s a force to be reckoned with defending the pass.

Diggs is undersized, at 5-foot-9, but his versatility and ball skills are nothing to scoff at. His speed didn’t blow anyone away and his physical tools didn’t standout for the 2015 NFL Draft either. Detroit picked him up in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Football does run in his family though since his brother was former NFL cornerback Quentin Jammer.

The Lions were smart to make the move for Diggs to go to safety from cornerback last season. You could definitely see the change in his stat line and the way he was able to read the field and opposing offenses. Detroit gave Diggs 11 stars last year, and he still sits as one of the most underrated defensive backs in the NFL.
