Pick Analysis. Defensive End. College Career: 2012-2014. Malcom Brown. 5. player. Scouting Report. 47

The 2014 All-American defensive lineman Malcom Brown made a ton of headway at the next level, including a key role in the most recent Super Bowl. Even though the New England Patriots ultimately fell short against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, Brown comes back for the 2018 campaign with one of the brightest outlooks for the upcoming regular season.

In his time with Texas, Brown was a force for the defensive line alongside other skilled players like Hassan Ridgeway (currently with the Indianapolis Colts). He did leave one year early, which ended up panning out nicely for Brown. Sitting among the most potent and young defensive lineman in the NFL, Brown is very valuable to the future of the Patriots’ defense.

Injury issues did get in the way of a few starts for Brown last year. He still kept to his usual stat line, but missed four starts that could’ve boosted some of his more significant numbers. He did rack up 2.5 sacks and 29 tackles last season.

Brown was named to the NFL’s All-Rookie Team back in 2015, and could be looking at his first Pro Bowl appearance here pretty soon. Staying healthy is a big key to Brown getting more of the recognition he deserves for his talent level. Before it’s all said and done for the career of Brown in the NFL, he’s likely to have a few Super Bowl rings as long as he stays with the Patriots.
