One of the most decorated programs in recent history in terms of NBA talent and hardware is Texas basketball boasting an impressive list of alumni.

Texas basketball produced some impressive results on the recruiting trail in the past decade. Considering the level of competition for recruiting in the Big 12, the fact that the Longhorns have hauled in so many top 10 classes over the years is truly a testament to the resources of this athletic department. The Horns are also one of the better programs in the Big 12 in the history of the conference in basketball.

That recruiting prowess led to some serious talent translating well to the NBA. Texas has one of the most impressive pipelines to the next level of any program in the nation. The list of active Texas alumni in the NBA is nothing short of spectacular.

Even some of the names that didn’t make this list are bonafide contributors and starters in the NBA that are well known in the basketball world. Houston Rockets’ forward P.J. Tucker went far with his team to the Western Conference Finals last season and he’s not mentioned here. Point guard D.J. Augustin has also been a valuable piece of a ton of rotations over the past decade. There’s a lot more players to list in that regard here too.

More talent is to come with former Texas star center Mohamed Bamba looking to be an early first round selection in the 2018 NBA Draft. Next year’s NBA Draft could be just as promising with players like guard Kerwin Roach Jr. and forward Jericho Sims coming out as potential first or early second round picks.

Here’s a look at the five best former Texas Longhorns’ basketball players in the NBA following the 2017-18 campaign.
