One key player from this recruiting class is coming back for the final season of his college career with Texas. Rising senior guard Kerwin Roach Jr. passed on taking the path to the 2018 NBA Draft to come back to Austin for one more year. That could give both the status of this entire recruiting class and the 2018-19 Texas basketball team a boost.

The other two signees from this class were two other four-star prospects. Texas reached into Columbia, SC, and the location of the South Carolina Gamecocks to reel in small forward Tevin Mack. Saginaw, MI, native Eric Davis was the other signee in this class as a solid recruit for the Horns to haul in too.

This class was one of the lower rated of the past five years for Texas, but it was still a top 20 ranked group in the nation. It is this type of recruiting standard set by the Horns of late that has challenged the best basketball programs in the Big 12 at the highest level. Texas ranked as the second best class in the Big 12 for this cycle.

The 2015 class could very well have been one of the best groups on this list had Mack and Davis remained on the roster entering the 2018-19 season. However, Mack was suspended indefinitely following his sophomore season and Davis left the program after his best season statistically in 2017-18. Roach Jr. also has yet to completely live up to his hype and potential.
