The biggest role that the younger brother of Colt McCoy, Case McCoy, had during his college career came in 2013. Texas did had a pretty decent season in 2013 in the final year under Mack Brown. That is at least by the standards the program is looking for positive results out of now.

McCoy took over in 2013 after a slew of injuries started to hit the Horns early in the regular season. However, he did enough to take a talented team to an eight win season and a win over the Oklahoma Sooners in 2013. The stat line McCoy posted that season was anything but impressive, though.

For his senior season, McCoy tossed 11 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. That was his worst season statistically. The problem for Texas was falling dramatically short against superior teams that season. McCoy had some pretty bad performances in losses to the Oklahoma State Cowboys, Baylor Bears, and Oregon Ducks in the Alamo Bowl.

Overall, McCoy filled his role pretty well. He was nothing huge for Texas, but he got the job done in the role Texas needed him to do. When thrusted into the full spotlight, McCoy didn’t do too much to impress anyone. That eight win season he led the Horns to in 2013 was the best win total for the program to this date. McCoy gets some props in that regard.
