Texas Football: Predicting realistic results for the Longhorns for the next 5 years
Only double-digit win seasons will get the job done for Texas football for the upcoming years to recover from a decline in the program’s records.
Texas football is bound to be a top program in the nation again soon if the current coaching staff keeps up the turnaround for the next two seasons. Big things are expected out of the Longhorns for the next two seasons. But, the 2019 campaign is when most pundits would say that Texas should really contend as a dark horse College Football Playoff contender and a potential favorite for the Big 12 Championship.
However, realistic results after the 2019 season are difficult to figure out, but some of those recruiting cycles are already getting pieced together. Texas has commitments going all the way up to the 2020 recruiting class with four-star dual-threat quarterback from Lake Travis High School Hudson Card.
This gives some idea as to how the program is trending for that year under head Texas football coach Tom Herman. If Texas continues to build through the recruiting trail, that usually results in positive output on the field. Especially if this current regime is the answer for the Horns.
Since the Charlie Strong era didn’t work out well for Texas, this set the team back for a few years. Herman seems to be a better fit as the 2017 campaign was better than about any of the three seasons for Texas under Strong.
A big 2018 season for Texas would carry enough steam for a likely huge run into 2019. One big year that could spark big things ahead would be massive for Texas, and much needed given that this team hasn’t won more than seven games in a season since 2013.
Here’s the realistic result predictions for the Texas Longhorns over the next five seasons.
