2019

The schedule for the 2019 season could go one of two ways depending on how some of the road conference opponents shake out and what the LSU Tigers look like. LSU is the biggest out-of-conference opponent next season, but is facing a down 2018 by its usual standards. The head LSU football coach Ed Orgeron could be on one of the hotter seats in the nation next year.

Outside of facing LSU, Texas has two Group of Five opponents in the Rice Owls and Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on tap. The Big 12 Championship Game comes about a few days later in 2019 than it does in 2018, on December 7.

Texas does have its lineup for the Big 12 schedule for the 2019 season, just the exact dates will not be announced until the off-season following the 2018 campaign. The good news is that the road slate is a bit easier than it is for the 2019 season. The Iowa State Cyclones, West Virginia Mountaineers, and TCU do come on the road.

In terms of the 2019 Texas roster itself, Ehlinger could be the answer under center at this point. A Texas backfield should feature either Daniel Young, Toneil Carter, or Keaontay Ingram as the starting running back. And, the defense could be led by the likes of some talented rising sophomores between Caden Sterns, B.J. Foster, and Keondre Coburn.

Realistic record prediction: 10-3 (7-3 Big 12)
