After a disappointing start to the Big 12 slate for Texas by losing its first game of the season against TCU, a shot at redemption comes for the first true road game of 2018. Texas got a glimpse at a somewhat hostile environment in the neutral site game against Maryland, but nothing compares to Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, KS.

The Kansas State Wildcats host the Horns with one loss also. Although, Texas still holds a spot in the top 20 rankings while Kansas State is on the outside of the top 25 looking in. Kansas State’s offense has been taken hold by dual-threat quarterback Skylar Thompson, who Texas will have a tough time stopping all game.

The redshirt sophomore Thompson starts off this game by giving Kansas State the early 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Thompson manages two total touchdowns by halftime, and the Texas offense can’t muster much of anything with Watson and Ingram getting limited to less than 50 rushing yards in the first half.

Ehlinger is able to spark the Texas offense in the second half with two passing touchdowns coming out in the third quarter. This also becomes the biggest game of the season for junior wide receiver Collin Johnson up to this point. He racks up more than 150 receiving yards and two touchdowns on the day. For the second straight year, Texas defeats Kansas State and Herman gets a huge road victory over Bill Snyder.

Final Score: Texas 37, Kansas State 31 (4-1, 1-1 Big 12)
