Texas Football: Ranking the 10 best Longhorns in 2018
There are a few players that the Horns have on both sides of the ball that can be absolute chameleons. On offense, potentially the most versatile skill position weapon is junior wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey. Dynamic duos also make up a good portion of the depth chart for the Horns, and wide receiver is no exception.
By season’s end, we should be talking about Humphrey as one of the biggest breakout stars at wide receiver in the Big 12. He’s got the ability to make an impact both on the ground and in the passing game. Whatever way Texas can get the ball in Humphrey’s hands will be beneficial to the offensive production.
Last year, Humphrey put up decent numbers but didn’t get in the end zone much. That role tends to be reserved for some of the bigger wide receivers that the Horns can look at on the outside to bring down 50/50 balls. Yet, Humphrey should be able to creatively find his way into the end zone at least four or five times in 2018.
It should also be a given that Humphrey eclipses the mark of receiving yards that he posted a season ago. Texas didn’t use him much at all off the line of scrimmage and that was a mistake to the efficiency of the offense. He’s a huge threat that can be a force for the Texas offense in 2018.
