An anticipated moment each week for ESPN’s College Gameday is the “Saturday Selections” and the hosts took favor to Texas football once again.

The best way for a college football fan to start of any Saturday during the fall is to catch ESPN’s College Gameday. In week 4 of the 2018 college football season, the College Gameday crew was in Eugene, OR, for the huge PAC-12 North matchup involving the No. 7 Stanford Cardinal @ No. 7 Oregon Ducks. However, that is not the only impactful in-conference matchup that College Gameday did for its Saturday Selection, as Texas football is taking on the No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs.

Entering the game, the Longhorns were three-point underdogs to the Horned Frogs at home at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Texas-TCU is one of the biggest matchups in the Big 12 this weekend and is the conference opener for both teams.

The entire country will be watching an underrated and loaded slate of games for Week 4. A host of Power Five teams around the country are also kicking off conference play in Week 4, including the Horns who are now done with the non-conference slate.

TCU enters this game riding a four-game winning streak over the Horns. Head coach Gary Patterson dominated the Horns since joining the Big 12 as he’s led his team to an average margin of victory of more than four possessions.

Texas football is ushering in a new era for this program under head coach Tom Herman in his second year on the Forty Acres. Last year, TCU controlled the game against the Horns to the tune of a 24-7 win. But, that was with now-junior quarterback Shane Buechele under center. Sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger is the sole starter now.

Here’s a look at some of the biggest games of Week 4 around the college football world, and a primer for the huge Big 12 opener matchup between the Texas Longhorns and No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs on Sep. 22.
