Walking out of the first seven weeks of the 2018 campaign with six wins is a resounding success for Texas football heading into the bye week.

Following the Week 1 loss to the Maryland Terrapins, the next six games went about as good for Texas football as any fan could’ve hoped. Those six games resulted in six wins for the Longhorns, four of which came in Big 12 play. The remainder of the 2018 schedule features nothing but Big 12 teams for the rest of the regular season.

This run for Texas football of late gave the team a top 10 ranking in both the AP Poll and Coaches Poll. The AP Poll for Week 8 put the Horns as the No. 7 team in the nation. Texas is now the highest ranked team in the Big 12 by beating the No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners in Week 6 in the Red River Showdown and the West Virginia Mountaineers undergoing a shocking defeat against the Iowa State Cyclones in Ames.

Texas looks to be the favorite in the race to win the Big 12 now. This is also the only team in the Big 12 that is still undefeated in conference play. West Virginia was the last undefeated team overall until losing to Iowa State.

The rest of the regular season features five games and the Horns are now at the first bye week of the 2018 campaign. Heading into the bye week, the Horns claimed a 23-17 victory over the Baylor Bears on Oct. 13 at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. That was one of the closer wins of the year for Texas football.

Here’s a look at the definitive ranking of every game so far for the Texas Longhorns in 2018.
