A huge pitfall for the Pokes so the past few years is the special teams unit that hampers them week in and week out. Texas football does a much better job of stabilizing itself on special teams.
The interesting part of the special teams units likely falling in favor of the Horns is the fact that it’s what cost them against Oklahoma State for the 2015 meeting. Texas is having some issues getting its true freshmen on the special teams unit adjusted to this level of play. However, the play from kicker Cameron Dicker yielded mostly positive results this fall. Meanwhile, punter Ryan Bujcevski is taking much longer to get adjusted to getting going with Texas football after the departure of Dickson.
