3. Keaontay Ingram is completely overtaking Tre Watson

The performance from true freshman running back Keaontay Ingram here compared to senior Tre Watson was telling as to where each is at right now. Even though Herman seemed set on monitoring the touches of Ingram in this game, he wound up with nearly twice as many as Watson.

Although, Ingram would’ve got more carries altogether if not for Oklahoma State holding the lead for pretty much the entire game. Watson only got five rushing attempts for six yards. On the other hand, Ingram was much more effective with more than 50 yards on 11 carries. The Oklahoma State front seven was more stout than expected too.

Even though was only the second time that Ingram finished a game with less than five yards per carry, he still posted a decent number at 4.7. But, that was offset by a highlighting catch coming on a nice pass from his quarterback that let him finish the game with three receptions for 30 receiving yards and one touchdown.

This was a nice breakthrough for Ingram in the receiving game out of the backfield since he nabbed multiple career marks against Oklahoma State. Ingram notched his first career receiving touchdown and a career high in receiving yards. He surely passed the eye test too with his progression in using his hands to make an impact.
