1. Line of scrimmage dominated by the Longhorns

A disadvantage that the Horns were put at last week was losing control of the line of scrimmage especially in the first half. Oklahoma State was able to run the ball between its two best and most explosive running backs and better play from the offensive line. Rebounding and winning the battle in the trenches will give Texas football a huge leg up over the Mountaineers.

Mainly, Texas football needs more out of key defensive players like senior linebacker Anthony Wheeler, senior nickelback P.J. Locke III, and senior defensive end Breckyn Hager. Texas surely has enough experience and talent laden across the defensive side of the ball to thrive through the rest of the Big 12 slate.

We’ll just need to see that come through after such a big Week 9 letdown. Putting less pressure on the offense and forcing some three-and-outs from the West Virginia offense puts Texas in a good spot. Texas was never able to get there with trailing for pretty much the entire time for the Oklahoma State game.

This team is much better on the Forty Acres this year so that could calm the nerves and get things rolling in the right direction again after the first loss of 2018 in conference play. On the other side of the ball, know where junior West Virginia linebacker David Long is on the field and the battle at the line of scrimmage gets much easier to win.
