Matchup issues got the best of Texas football in Week 9 and needs it to make some adjustments with the high scoring West Virginia Mountaineers coming.

Last week, Texas football learned what it meant when you aren’t able to successfully deal with some of the best players that the opposition has to offer. The Oklahoma State Cowboys rode some of its best weapons of the offensive side of the ball, along with some surprisingly stout defensive play, to pull off the upset of Texas football on Oct. 27.

However, this is a new opportunity for the Texas Longhorns to get back on track down the road to the Big 12 Championship Game. The No. 13 ranked West Virginia Mountaineers are set to make way to the Forty Acres for a Nov. 3 battle at DKR that could decide one of the spots in the Big 12 Title Game this year.

The friendly confines of the Forty Acres will be a very welcome site for the Horns since Boone Pickens Stadium wound up being such a wacky place in Week 9. Yet, the Horns are going to need more than just a slight home field advantage to beat a team as good as West Virginia that has the extra rest from the long week.

Beating the Mountaineers is going to take a complete 180 flip from what we saw out of the Horns in the loss to Oklahoma State. We all know it’s something that can do. Head Texas football coach Tom Herman does a great job of firing up his players to get ready for big games like this. He’ll need to get the very best out of his squad in this one.

Here’s a look at the five problematic players for the West Virginia Mountaineers, against the Texas Longhorns in Week 10.
