1. Depth shining through

We’ll build this point off of the mounting injuries for Texas football early in this game. Between the injuries to Hager, Nelson, and Davis for this outing, the Horns had to muster up something on the defensive side of the ball to make up for the losses. The return to the field from junior linebacker Malcolm Roach did help here.

Texas did get some big contributions from defensive players like sophomore defensive end Ta’Quon Graham and sophomore safety Josh Thompson. With the flashes that other defensive backs like Cook already showed this fall, the future does look bright for this Texas defense that is about to see a lot of turnover in the upcoming off-season.

The depth for Herman’s squad is very important on both sides of the ball with how this program is building become very prominent in the Big 12. It’s also nice to see Ehlinger keeping up the momentum in his game and the rhythm of the offense hold up. The supporting cast was also solid around Ehlinger.

We have no doubt that the incoming recruiting classes, even the 2018 signees, make the future for this program among the best in the nation. After signing the No. 3 ranked class in the nation for the 2018 recruiting cycle, the Horns have another top 10 group of commits in store for 2019 to keep the talent pouring into the Forty Acres.
