A dream 2018 collapsed for Texas football officially with the loss to West Virginia at home in Week 10 with some pressure now falling on Tom Herman.

The fate of the 2018 campaign for Texas football was left out on the field at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Nov. 3. The No. 13 West Virginia Mountaineers proved to be the opponent we expected them to be in Week 10. West Virginia and the Oklahoma Sooners now look to be the two teams competing in the 2018 Big 12 Championship Game. Although, a rematch of the Red River Showdown is still possible.

The hit that Texas football took in the AP Poll at least wasn’t that bad. Due to the nature of the loss, falling out of the top 25 rankings completely would be unwarranted if we’re just taking this game into account. How the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Maryland Terrapins fell off the map of relevance could hurt the Texas Longhorns, but that isn’t as strong of a consideration here.

With how close the Horns came to legitimately contending for a spot in the College Football Playoff coming out of the bye and entering Week 9, these losses do hurt a lot.

Here’s a look at the biggest overreactions from the 42-41 loss for the Texas Longhorns in Week 10 at home to the West Virginia Mountaineers.
