The field for the 2019 NFL Draft class is starting to narrow with the 2018 college football season drawing to a close in less than six weeks.

The time of mock draft season is almost here concerning the 2019 NFL Draft. The Texas Longhorns have some worthy candidates to include in the field. Some of those candidates would need to declare early. While some others run out of eligibility regardless. The 2019 NFL Draft will be here before we know it.

Texas had some emerging prospects for future NFL Drafts, like true freshman running back Keaontay Ingram and safety Caden Sterns. Ingram and Sterns won’t be eligible until at least the 2021 NFL Draft. The third year players will be the first to make the decision to jump to the next level in 2019.

The 2019 NFL Draft doesn’t begin until late April. It is one of the biggest events of the off-season for fans at both the college and NFL level. College fans get to see where the favorites from year’s past will play next. NFL fans get to see how each team rebuilds for the future.

For a program like Texas football, sending talent to the NFL should happen every year. It should have a few early round picks too. Texas has that sort of class in store for the 2019 NFL Draft.

We have at least two games yet to see where the best Horns stack up. Two games could come on the national stage between the bowl game and Big 12 Championship Game (if the Horns beat the Kansas Jayhawks in Week 13).

Here’s a look at the five best prospects from the Texas Longhorns for the 2019 NFL Draft nearing the end of the 2018 regular season.
