Entering the 2018 campaign, the two highest touted 2019 NFL Draft prospects from the Horns were Boyd and junior wide receiver Collin Johnson. Boyd and Johnson have tons of potential in the NFL. Johnson might even have the highest ceiling of all the wide receivers coming out of the Big 12 for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Injury issues and the emergence of others in the passing game hampered the production of Johnson. He posted a career high in receiving touchdowns this year. Johnson isn’t far off posting career highs in receptions and receiving yards. He has 53 catches for 730 yards and five touchdowns this year.

The career numbers from Johnson won’t blow anyone away. His physical tools and professional ceiling make him an attractive prospect. Johnson fits the profile of a top notch possession receiver for most NFL teams. He’s a good pick for any team that needs help at outside receiver. He’ll be an immediate boost to any offense that needs help on the outside portion of the receiving corps.

CBS Sports ranks Johnson as the No. 74 prospect in the 2019 NFL Draft class. Walter Football has Johnson as the fifth best receiver in this class. Most projections have Johnson going in the second or third round, including Walter Football and CBS Sports. There’s also some chatter that the Dallas Cowboys could target Johnson to bolster its receiving corps, according to the Star-Telegram.
