The time to give thanks for Texas football fans is here with the final week of the 2018 regular season upon us against the Kansas Jayhawks.

With Thanksgiving having come and gone in the blink of an eye for Texas football fans, and the rest of the great people in this country, there’s a few key things that we should be thankful for. Thanksgiving is a time of recognizing everything good that isn’t worth taking for granted. Texas football fans have a few things to be thankful for from this successful 2018 campaign.

Texas football has a key matchup with the lowly Kansas Jayhawks on the road on Black Friday. This game is set for an 11 a.m. CT kick-off time at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawrence on Nov. 23. Texas comes into the game with a record of 8-3 (6-2 Big 12), while Kansas has a record of 3-8 (1-7 Big 12).

The kick-off time for the game is less than desirable for any fan in and around the Big 12 looking for a game to watch on Black Friday. The Big 12 has a good slate of games in Week 13, including the Oklahoma Sooners taking on the West Virginia Mountaineers in Morgantown.

However, a dud of a regular season finale doesn’t take away from the bulk of things that Horns fans have to be thankful for even beyond the football program this year. The success so far for the basketball program is something to add to the list.

Here’s a look at what fans of the Texas Longhorns should be thankful for, and what we should still what from the program for Black Friday.
