Texas Basketball vs. Radford: 5 bold predictions against Highlanders
1. Texas gets its second 20+ point victory of the season
For Texas basketball jumping so far up in both polls this week, you’d figure it would take care of business easier against easier competition. That wasn’t the case for the Horns in the first four games of the regular season.
The only convincing victory the Horns posted before the Las Vegas Invitational came right before the team headed to Las Vegas, NV, against The Citadel. Before that, wins over the Arkansas Razorbacks, Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks, and Eastern Illinois Panthers came by margins closer than anticipated. Texas didn’t cover the spread a single time until it defeated The Citadel.
This is a great opportunity for the Horns to capitalize on the momentum from the Las Vegas Invitational and cover the spread for the third time this season. A 14-point edge over a solid team like Radford might be a little far fetched with the way Texas played before the invitational. That doesn’t mean it can’t claim a convincing victory on Nov. 30.
Texas needs to ride its leading scorers here to stave off an upset from a stingy Radford team. That includes a big night from Roach II and senior forward Dylan Osetkowski to outpace Radford and not let them creep back into the game in the second half. That’s what got the Horns in the overtime win over Arkansas and it could happen again here if the team isn’t careful.
