The fate of the 2018 campaigns for Texas football and the Oklahoma Sooners all boils down to one game at the home of the Dallas Cowboys on Dec. 1.

The time is officially almost here for the moment that Texas football fans waited for a long while now. Texas football gets its shot at upending the Oklahoma Sooners in a Red River Showdown rematch in the Big 12 Championship Game. The stakes on the line in this game are enormous, as the Texas football program looks to bring its first Big 12 Title since 2009 back to the Forty Acres.

All eyes of the college football landscape should fall on this Big 12 Championship Game for its entertainment value and national implications that kicks off the morning slate. Texas football kicks off against the Sooners at 11 a.m. CT on Dec. 1 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. Oklahoma comes in with a No. 5 ranking in the latest College Football Playoff poll while Texas football rings in at No. 14.

Oklahoma holds the same one possession edge that it opened with against the Horns this week. The over/under for this game is set at 78.5 total points, which was surpassed in the first Red River meeting this year. This year’s first Red River Showdown ended in the favor of Texas by the final score of 48-45.

Texas football had a lot of big games with high stakes this year. The quick rise for the program in the second year under head Texas football coach Tom Herman produced more high stakes affairs for the Horns than in year’s past under Charlie Strong.
