4. Marquise Brown is held under 100 receiving yards

The ground game is going to be the biggest threat to contain from the Oklahoma offense. The issue for Texas football is that the passing game is just as productive. Oklahoma averages 319.4 passing yards per game this fall and 3.2 touchdowns. Murray only has seven interceptions on the year too, compared to 37 passing touchdowns.

Most of the passing touchdowns that have gone to the wideouts this year went to speedy junior Marquise Brown. Oklahoma’s offense has the perfect system in place to handle Big 12 defenses. Or really any defenses for that matter. Brown has the ability to take the top off of defenses that are too worried about containing Murray, Brooks, and Sermon in the backfield.

Oklahoma has one of the best receivers, and deep threats, in the nation in Brown. He has more than 1,200 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in his second year with the Sooners. Brown is coming off a massive performance in the 59-56 road win over the West Virginia Mountaineers with 243 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

However, Brown ran into a difficult stretch before that huge performance against West Virginia. Part of that lapse for Brown this year was due to lingering injury issues. But, he was held in check in four of the five games previous to West Virginia. In four of those five games, he was held under 80 receiving yards. If the Texas secondary steps up here, it could be a tough day for Brown.
