Brennan Eagles and Cade Brewer

Eagles is a 6’3″ WR from Houston, TX. He was the 10th rated wide receiver out of high school. Eagles played in virtually every game, however, he did not get many snaps and he did not get many targets. Eagles had one catch on the season for 35 yards in the game against Tulsa.

Eagles is a big-bodied receiver and is poised to be a difference-maker at Texas, he just was not needed in 2018 with the likes of Humphrey and Johnson. Regardless of what those guys decide to do in the off-season, Eagles should be a utilized weapon in his second year.

Eagles is poised to be a big-time receiver at some point in his time in Austin.

Cade Brewer is a Lake Travis High School graduate and a guy who backed up Beck this season. Though underrated out of high school, Brewer has great hands and should be a guy Herman can utilize in the offense with the departure of Beck.

Brewer had just two catches for 19 yards last season, but secured nine catches for 80 yards and 2 touchdowns amid Beck’s injury in 2017.

The 6’4″ 240 pound tight end has the makeup to be a player in the Big 12. It will be interesting to see what Herman does with the position as Reese Leitao and Epps can also play tight end.

As of now, Brewer has the stronghold on the job for 2019.
