4. Fiesta Bowl

Matchup: UCF Knights vs. LSU Tigers

Date: Jan. 1

Location: Phoenix, AZ

For the second straight year, the UCF Knights will be looking to prove something in a New Year’s Six Bowl game against a team from the SEC West. Last year, it was the Knights downing the SEC West Champion Auburn Tigers in dramatic fashion. UCF could shock the world again by beating an SEC opponent for the second year in a row.

The Fiesta Bowl will be the site of UCF trying to pull off a pretty big upset against head coach Ed Orgeron and LSU. UCF will also be without the services of its Heisman contender quarterback in junior McKenzie Milton. Redshirt freshman quarterback Darrell Mack Jr. should get another start in place of Milton in the Fiesta Bowl.

UCF is coming off its second straight American Athletic Conference Championship, with a 56-41 thriller of a victory over running back Darrell Henderson and the Memphis Tigers. If UCF wasn’t as injury-riddled as it is coming into the Fiesta Bowl, this game might be expected to be closer than the 7.5-point edge in favor of LSU indicates.

LSU is coming off its heartbreaking, but exciting, 74-72 overtime defeat against the Aggies in its regular season finale. Texas A&M pushed the matchup with LSU in College Station to seven overtimes before the game finally ended. LSU will be looking for redemption with an opportunity to end the longest active FBS winning streak.
