College Football Playoff National Championship Prediction

We’re going to pit the Crimson Tide and Tigers in the College Football Playoff National Championship. In each of the last three seasons, Clemson and Alabama faced each other in either the Semifinals or College Football Playoff National Championship. Alabama took two of those games, while Clemson took one.

Clemson-Notre Dame should be a better matchup than Oklahoma-Alabama. At least Clemson and Notre Dame are both formidable on both sides of the ball. Oklahoma-Alabama could pose a matchup where we see 110+ points put up. Oklahoma’s offense can score at will and there’s no way it will be able to stop the Alabama offense.

The running joke that Oklahoma-Alabama might finish with a final score of 70-40 might not be too far off. Oklahoma should give Alabama a tough run, but won’t do enough to hold them off. It would be fantastic to see Alabama facing either Clemson or Notre Dame in a national title game. Alabama faced both teams in a national title game at some point in the past eight years.

Clemson is the pick to come out of the other Semifinal, since it seems to have a slight edge over the undefeated Irish. The Clemson defense will matchup well against the Crimson Tide, as will the balanced nature of its offense. If Georgia gave Alabama a run for its money, so will Clemson in the national title game.
