One of the most recent offers that Texas football recruiting handed out for the 2019 class went to three-star Indianapolis, IN, offensive tackle Dawand Jones. Texas currently has two four-star offensive tackles committed in the 2019 class. It could use more depth for the offensive line across the board, though.

The 6-foot-8 Ben Davis High School lineman towers over his competition and gained an abundance of offers from blue blood programs of late. The Horns are not the only big-name school that is after the skills that Jones brings to the table. It seems like Jones is a bit underrated as the No. 88 ranked 2019 high school offensive tackle in the nation.

He’s racking up offers from top tier programs including the Ohio State Buckeyes, Auburn Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, Michigan Wolverines, USC Trojans and Florida Gators. Even some of the Power Five programs that don’t carry as much of a brand name as those aforementioned blue bloods amount to an impressive offer list for him. Some of those other schools include the Oregon Ducks, TCU Horned Frogs, and Mississippi State Bulldogs.

The fact that an uncommitted three-star offensive lineman has this much attention and offers from high caliber programs indicates the sort of buzz that Jones is drawing. Jones could add to a Texas offensive line that is always looking to bolster the depth. Texas will be fighting the odds for Jones since there’s an 83 percent chance he commits to Michigan, Florida State, or USC, per 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions.
