2. Who are the silent commits?

Some intriguing press was released for the 2019 Texas football recruiting class by way of one key figure on the coaching staff. Bryan Carrington is a key recruit for the Horns and announced two recent silent commits on his Twitter timeline. The first came on Dec. 10, and the second came on Dec. 13.

No news has been released yet as to who the two silent commits are to add to one of the Texas football recruiting classes. There’s a host of three and four-star prospects, receiving less national attention than usual, that are set to commit either before or during the Early Signing Period. Texas is bound to land a few of those key targets.

Getting some type of boost to this 2019 Texas football recruiting class is key since the most recent news involved more losses than additions in the wake of the two decommits. There’s a host of positional needs for this recruiting class for the Horns including running back, linebacker, and the offensive line in general.

Moreover, the hope is that these two silent commits aren’t just filling positions of need, but they also are highly rated and talented prospects. The Early Signing Period presents the opportunity for any number of underrated prospects to get some very late attention on the recruiting trail, though. This Texas football recruiting class could add some potential instant impact commits and signees to fill out too. To get a better look at that, you can view the entire list of the 2019 prospects the Horns offered here.
