1. Texas hangs on for a six-point victory

Most any national pundit that you would talk to, or read anything from, would give the major edge to Georgia over Texas football. Bleacher Report, Sports Illustrated, and Sporting News, all picked the Dawgs over the Horns. Most pundits and sources put a significant edge for Georgia over Texas in the Sugar Bowl too.

The Vegas line for this game gives Georgia an 11.5-point edge over Texas. It’s hard to believe that the Horns are going to fall behind by a margin of two possessions for any established period of time in the Sugar Bowl. The Texas offense is balanced enough and boasts a good enough ground game to control the clock and keep pace in the possession battle.

However, all this doubt coming the way of the Horns could give them some added motivation to come out strong here. Rarely have the Horns looked outmatched by any of its opponents in either of the two years under the direction of Herman. Georgia might not be an exception since the Horns always seem up, or down, to the challenge game in and game out.

The real key here for the Horns is managing the possession battle and turnover margin. Georgia can lock down on its opponent when it decisively win either the possession or turnover battle. Ehlinger managed both well for most of the regular season, and will need to here to keep pace with the Dawgs.
