1. A win in the Sugar Bowl

If Texas football is to cap this 2018 campaign is the most successful fashion possible, a win in the Sugar Bowl has to be around the corner. Texas hasn’t had a postseason game this impactful since it faced the Crimson Tide in the 2009 BCS National Championship Game. A New Year’s Six Bowl is going to be an unfamiliar stage for almost all of these players.

It’s not going to be easy for the Horns to pull out a victory that was on the brink of winning the SEC and making it into the College Football Playoff field like Georgia. Just seconds away from winning its second straight SEC Title, the Dawgs are going to want a victory to mitigate the disappointment from losing to Alabama on Dec. 1.

Georgia certainly holds the considerable advantage for the Vegas line, as a two possession favorite over the Horns. Not many national pundits are putting their faith in the Horns either. According to ESPN’s Matchup Predictor based on the Football Power Index, Georgia has a 77.4 percent chance to win the Sugar Bowl.

Herman and the Horns tend to excel under pressure as underdogs like this. And, this squad is mostly healthy and should be very motivated heading into the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, LA, on Jan. 1. The national stage should help the Horns keep this game close, and potentially pull out a massive victory for the 10th win of the season.
