5. Balanced offense led by Sam Ehlinger

This is a broad topic to cover, but one that could give Texas football an edge over Georgia. Since the Georgia defense is very formidable at pretty much every level, the Horns need to take the advantages where they lie and ride them to any shot at pulling off the upset. Those advantages are few on both sides of the ball too.

The balance of the Texas offense all starts with sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger. He leads the Horns in pretty much every stat category and rushing touchdowns. He also has the opportunity to get over the mark of 500 rushing yards on the season with a big outing in the Sugar Bowl.

Moreover, what makes this Texas offense so unique is the quarterback power run and how efficient Ehlinger remained in the passing game this year. We can really see what the potential of this offense is under head Texas football coach Tom Herman when there’s a quarterback like Ehlinger that is a versatile threat to beat opposing defenses.

Ehlinger is able to keep defensive coordinators on their toes since he can evade the pocket and pick up extra yardage when the play breaks down, remain patient when the pocket holds up, and pick up chunk yardage with the power run up the middle. There’s so many ways that Ehlinger can beat a defense that all he really has to do is stay healthy throughout this game.
