2. What will Lil’Jordan Humphrey and Collin Johnson decide?

The 2019 NFL Draft discussion are really heating up of late. We’re getting some players skipping out on bowl games to prepare for the 2019 NFL Draft and the combine come next spring. Other players will have key NFL Draft decisions looming at the start of the off-season. Those decisions impacted different teams around the Big 12 for bowl season.

That list of players for Texas football that have key NFL Draft decisions mainly come from the receiving corps. Junior wideouts Lil’Jordan Humphrey and Collin Johnson need to show out against a talented Georgia secondary regardless. The NFL scouts watching them on the national stage makes their performances that much more significant.

Humphrey and Johnson are mostly projected as early round selections for the upcoming NFL Draft, if they decide to declare one year early. Johnson seems like a more stable draft stock, so Humphrey needs the best performance in the Sugar Bowl to solidify his status as a top tier wide receiver in this class.

Regardless of what happens in the Sugar Bowl, fellow junior wide receiver Devin Duvernay should be returning to headline what will be a much younger Texas receiving corps in 2019. If the Horns get Duvernay and either one of the pairing of Johnson and Humphrey back on the Forty Acres next year, the offense would be set for a massive season.
