Who to watch in the Playoff Semifinals

There’s two College Football Playoff Semifinals on Dec. 29, which means it is pretty much the biggest day of the 2018 campaign. Will the College Football Playoff National Championship Game be more memorable than any of the games on Dec. 29? The answer to that question is likely yes, but this is going to be a more fun and action packed day of games.

In the first Semifinals game, head coach Brian Kelly and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are set to battle head coach Dabo Swinney and his Clemson squad in the Cotton Bowl. The home of the Dallas Cowboys, AT&T Stadium in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, is going to be the site of the most underrated matchup of every New Year’s Six Bowl game.

For some reason, national pundits are still counting out upstart junior quarterback Ian Book and the Fighting Irish despite all the suspensions that Clemson is dealing with. That game might wind up carrying more intrigue before kick-off than the other Semifinal. So many people are counting out Notre Dame that the chip on the shoulder for Book’s squad should be massive.

The latter half of the College Football Playoff action on Dec. 29 will feature the game that most people are waiting for, between head coach Lincoln Riley and the Sooners and head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. The Orange Bowl is going to be a hotly contested Semifinal with two high-octane offenses.
