1. You don’t get a matchup like this often

Outside of all the storylines and developments that could happen in the last 24 hours leading up to the kick-off of the Sugar Bowl between Texas football and Georgia, and there’s something great to appreciate from this game. Since college football is very close to wrapping up the 2018 campaign, each fan of any team should soak up every ounce of what is left.

Moreover, Texas and Georgia is the final game that is left before the College Football National Championship Game that will be decided between Alabama and the Clemson Tigers on Jan. 7. The Sugar Bowl couldn’t give much more intriguing circumstances for the two teams playing in it to lead up to the national title game.

Georgia was very close to taking the SEC Title and potentially being the team that faced Clemson in the national title game. Texas was only one solid quarter of football away from ruining Oklahoma’s chances of taking the Big 12 Title back to Norman yet again. What is left in the Sugar Bowl is two talented teams with a lot to play for to set the stage for the final game of this entertaining season.

Letting two blue bloods take the stage in the Sugar Bowl to decide how each program heads into a decisive 2019 off-season is a fantastic way to cap each team’s 2018 campaign. Texas football is a program that is trending up in the Big 12 and looking to make a Playoff run next year. Georgia took a tiny step back this year, but stayed completely in the thick of the Playoff race. Both should play prominent roles in the national title picture next season, which makes this prelude to what should be a fun 2019 season such an enamored spectacle set for New Years Day.
