Of all the 2019 NFL Draft prospects for the Horns entering the off-season that could declare one year early, it seemed like the most foregone conclusion was the decision for junior wide receiver Collin Johnson. As a top wide receiver prospect in this draft class entering the 2018 regular season, the breakthrough campaign for Johnson makes him a very attractive early round selection.

However, the feedback that Johnson received from the NFL Draft College Advisory Committee seemed to be a setback. His draft stock got mixed reviews since the end of the regular season due to how deep this wide receiver class is. Some of the more prominent mock ups of the 2019 NFL Draft do have Johnson falling in the first three rounds.

There were some recent events, after the Sugar Bowl win over Georgia, that sparked some debate as to whether Johnson could be hinting at a return to the Forty Acres for his senior campaign. However, those hints were nothing official and it could be a few weeks before we know anything about where his head is at for his NFL Draft decision.

For the 2018 season, Johnson finished with 68 catches for just under 1,000 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. The 6-foot-6 wide talented wideout could return to campus for one more season if he wants to truly contend for a Big 12 Title and a spot in the College Football Playoff. But, he could be an early round selection still if he declares for the 2019 NFL Draft.
