Like the other players on this list, Jones has until Jan. 15 to make his official decision for the 2019 NFL Draft. It seems like the idea of declaring early really caught some traction for Jones in the past few weeks. Drafttek.com projects Jones as the 12th best safety in the 2019 NFL Draft class, so he’d be right in the thick of things.

Similar to Humphrey, Jones enjoyed a nice breakout junior campaign. The difference between the rise in draft stocks of Humphrey and Jones was the background of each player dating back to the days of their recruitment. We all knew that Jones had what it took to fulfill his potential to become one of the best safeties in the Big 12.

Jones is a versatile safety that can also make an impact on special teams. If he does declare early for the 2019 NFL Draft, he’ll provide value in multiple facets of the game. He’s also a very skilled safety with a sure-tackling ability, good ball skills, and excellent range. The 6-foot-0 former five-star recruit has the toughest decision to figure out at this point.
