1. Miami Hurricanes

The chances that Buechele goes from the Texas football program to the Miami Hurricanes might seem slim, but the fit is better than some might initially assume. Buechele would get the juicy opportunity to join a Miami football program that is going to look completely different in 2019, and it will have some ties back to the Horns.

Former Texas football defensive coordinator Manny Diaz had a turbulent start to the off-season that ultimately saw him take over the head coaching position with the Hurricanes. He had originally taken the head coach position with the Temple Owls, but quickly reversed his decision when former Miami and Georgia Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt surprisingly announced his retirement.

With Diaz instituting basically a brand new coaching staff and offensive scheme, Buechele could become a start of something new with a blue blood program. The appeal that Texas had for Buechele during his recruitment shares something in common with Miami. Both are programs that could fit into the national title picture at some point over the next two years.

In terms of the logistic fit for Buechele with the Hurricanes, the shot to get the starting job immediately is there. The Miami quarterback combination of Malik Rosier and the talented freshman N’Kosi Perry did anything but impress in what amounted to a very disappointing 2018 campaign to follow up a magical 2017 season in Richt’s first year at the helm.
