5. Kerwin Roach Jr. keeps on rolling

Although this wasn’t the best game that senior shooting guard Kerwin Roach Jr. ever had with Texas basketball, he continued posting worthy efforts of recognition for the upcoming NBA Draft. What Roach Jr. is mainly vying for at this point of his collegiate career is a better 2019 NBA Draft stock and his first ever NCAA Tournament victory.

During the tenure of head Texas basketball coach Shaka Smart, this team is without a single victory in the NCAA Tournament. Texas basketball is one of the few teams in the Big 12 that still lingers without an NCAA Tournament victory while having the same head coach at the helm for as long as Smart was on the Forty Acres.

In this losing effort to the Jayhawks, Roach Jr. posted another game scoring in double figures. He continues to lead the Horns in scoring this season and is one of the few sparks this offense can rely on. Altogether, Roach Jr. registered 13 points, two rebounds, four assists, and one block. It was a good all-around effort as he continues to impress.

However, Roach Jr. does need to find more consistency from the field within two-point range. He did his on three of his eight three-point attempts against Kansas, but that left him just one of three from the field from two-point range. His field goal percentage could continue to fall if he doesn’t take care of the easier shooting attempts provided.
