3. Arkansas Razorbacks

The need for young and talented quarterbacks across the SEC West is going to grow this off-season. A multitude of SEC West programs are set to lose key starting quarterbacks following the 2018 season. That list includes the Ole Miss Rebels, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Auburn Tigers, and Arkansas Razorbacks. Three of those four programs have quarterbacks headed for the 2019 NFL Draft, while Arkansas has one bound for the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Arkansas jumior quarterback Ty Storey was one of the many quarterbacks that looked destined to compete for a starting job next year that put his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal within the past month. Storey looks to be almost guaranteed to be on his way out with former SMU quarterback Ben Hicks on his way to Arkansas.

Head coach Chad Morris will be entering his second year in Fayetteville, AR. The shakeup he needs to get his prototypical offense working with Arkansas means finding the right quarterback. Storey played tough last season for the Razorbacks, but had some consistency and injury issues that only allowed him to lead his squad to a two-win season.

The quarterback depth chart for Arkansas will mainly feature second-year Connor Noland, incoming freshman four-star KJ Jefferson, and the transfer Hicks. Thompson would fit nicely into a thinning Arkansas quarterback room that could lose both Storey and rising junior 6-foot-7 signal caller Cole Kelley to the transfer market.
