3. Saturated QB transfer market

To say the very least, the market for graduate transfer quarterbacks is very opportune for teams that need someone experienced and proven under center. But, the list of quarterback names on the graduate transfer market doesn’t leave much opportunity to find an ideal situation, like for Buechele of Texas football.

The news for Texas football that Buechele would be departing the Forty Acres, or at least intended to, on Jan. 17. He does become one of the more recognizable names on the graduate transfer market, but that might not mean much. There should be an early interest gauge for the programs pursuing him.

A few of the big quarterback names to already hit the transfer market include Austin Kendall, Jalen Hurts, Tate Martell, Ty Storey, Brandon Wimbush, and Kelly Bryant. It’s easy to forget the names like Wimbush and Bryant since they declared their transfer intentions during the regular season and committed somewhere already.

Hurts, Kendall, and Martell shook the college football landscape by all committing to different schools on the same day, Jan. 16. Hurts chose the Oklahoma Sooners, Kendall the West Virginia Mountaineers, and Martell the Miami Hurricanes.
