3. 29-yard touchdown catch vs. Texas Tech

Date: Nov. 10

The road matchup for Texas football against the Texas Tech Red Raiders was one of those road or neutral site games where Humphrey absolutely went off. There were numerous occasions like that during the regular season where Humphrey posted at least 80 receiving yards and one touchdown.

However, this was the best individual performance for Humphrey during his collegiate career in any game. He finished this win over Texas Tech up with eight catches for 159 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Humphrey also caught the first and last touchdowns of the game from sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger.

It was the last touchdown catch that wound up as the most memorable for Humphrey. In the same spot where former Texas Tech star wide receiver Michael Crabtree broke the hearts of Horns fans everywhere on a crazy Halloween weekend at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, Humphrey “mossed” the defending cornerback Damarcus Fields for the 29-yard touchdown catch.

That touchdown catch from Humphrey came with less than 40 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and gave the Horns a one-possession lead to lock up the victory. In a game where the Red Raiders gave the Horns a scare on the road, Humphrey saved the day with a highlight reel catch in clutch time.
