Who were the most productive seniors last season that Texas football is set to lose and will miss the most during the 2019 campaign?

What the Texas football program was able to do in 2018 was very reliant on the senior class that encompassed so much of the starting positions on both sides of the ball. At the beginning of the regular season, more than 80 percent of the starters of both sides of the ball for Texas football were made up of upperclassmen.

On offense, Texas football is set to lose six starters. Five of those six starters are seniors that will be looking to make their way into the 2019 NFL Draft with different outlooks across the board. The other starter departing the Forty Acres is an early entrant into the 2019 NFL Draft that Texas football will miss in 2019, breakout wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey.

Moreover, three of the starters from the offense that are departing seniors were offensive linemen. It’s difficult to classify all three as departing starters from throughout the entire 2018 season, though. Sophomore Derek Kerstetter played in place of senior Elijah Rodriguez at tackle whenever he needed to fill in elsewhere.

On the defensive side of the ball, Texas is set to lose eight senior starters. The losses on defense look to be more detrimental than offense. But, some of the areas where departing senior starters is abundant also looks to be quickly replaceable. The defensive line and corner spots are two examples of that.

Here’s a look at the definitive ranking of the five best seniors for the Texas Longhorns football program during the 2018 season.
