Smaller players always can run into a difficult time on the recruiting trail, no matter how quick, strong, or all-around talented they are. That’s the hurdle that two-star Hutto, TX, running back Chux Nwabuko is finding himself in for this recruiting cycle. The 5-foot-6 and 150 pound skill position standout isn’t getting much national attention thanks to the size factor.

But, Nwabuko is currently committed to the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and has been since October 2018. The coaching turnover at Texas Tech, after former head coach Kliff Kingsbury departed for what is now the job with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, could lead to some programs like the Horns trying to pry Nwabuko away.

However, there’s no a more elusive prospect that this 2019 Texas football recruiting class will stumble up that’s underrated at this point in the recruiting cycle than the Hutto High School senior rusher Nwabuko. His high school film highlights insanely quick feet and a bevy of agility that should be garnering him more respect nationally.

There’s also a ton of versatility that Nwabuko brings to the table that could bring some intrigue from the coaching staff for the Horns. He’s a solid contributor on special teams, and can make people miss lining up pretty much anywhere off the line of scrimmage. His official classification is an “all-purpose running back” which fits the bill quite well given his skill set.
