In order to establish its second winning streak in Big 12 play this season, Texas basketball needs to overcome a big obstacle on the road on Jan. 23.

A positive note finally came along for the Texas basketball program amid Big 12 play. Texas basketball downed the rival Oklahoma Sooners in a big showdown on the hardwood over the weekend.

Fresh off that win over the Sooners in the Red River Basketball Showdown, Texas basketball looks to start building up a winning streak at the back end of one of its more difficult stretches of Big 12 play. Oklahoma was a difficult opponent, and the next one up won’t be easy either. The TCU Horned Frogs look to at least be bound for a single digit seed in the NCAA Tournament this season. Texas basketball needs to continue its winning ways against TCU to stay in the hunt for a spot on Selection Sunday.

Texas basketball comes into this game as a four-point underdog on the road against the Horned Frogs. TCU enters this game with a 13-4 (2-3 Big 12) record with a road loss to the Kansas State Wildcats now in the rear view mirror. But, TCU is very good at home this season with only one loss coming in the early portion of the non-conference slate as the team was recovering from some key injuries.

Meanwhile, Texas basketball is coming off that impactful 75-72 win over Oklahoma in the Red River Showdown over the weekend. That moved Texas basketball to 11-7 (3-3 Big 12) on the season so far.

Here’s a look at the five bold predictions as the Texas Longhorns are set to take on the TCU Horned Frogs on the road on Jan. 23.
